Patch Notes

Season 2 has arrived, and thanks to the feedback of all our Beta players, we have prepared some balancing updates for Soldiers and Squad Perks to better suit the new gameplay, as well as some Easter themed surprises! Including some fun Easter skins and a special Event starting soon.

 

What’s New?

  • New Easter ORB.
  • New Easter Event.
  • Limited time Easter Soldier skins.
  • Territory War – Enlistment Battles reduced to 1 wave.
  • Territory War – Assault Battles reduced in difficulty.

 

Squad Perk Updates

The initial Squad Perk adjustments still required some fine tuning to fit well with Season 2.

 

Resourceful

Tier 1

  • Increased Critical Chance from 5% -> 10%

Tier 2

  • Increased Critical Chance from 10% -> 15%

Tier 3

  • Increased Critical Chance from 20% -> 30%

 

Composed

  • This Squad Perk felt a little less exciting, and harder to play around then our other Trait perk, so we spruced it up a bit.

Tier 1

  • Decreased Critical Damage reduction from 60% -> 20%
  • Added +5% Lifesteal

Tier 2

  • Decreased Critical Damage reduction from 75% – 30%
  • Added +7% Lifesteal

Tier 3

  • Decreased Critical Damage reduction from 95% -> 40%
  • Added +10% Lifesteal

 

Intimidating

Tier 2

  • Decreased Damage buff from 35% -> 30%

Tier 3

  • Decreased Damage buff from 50% -> 45%

 

Enduring

Tier 1

  • Increased Damage reduction from 20% -> 35%

Tier 2

  • Increased Damage reduction from 30% -> 45%

Tier 3

  • Increased Damage reduction from 45% -> 65%

 

Dutiful

Tier 2

  • Increased Ability Damage reduction from 25% -> 30%

Tier 3

  • Increased Ability Damage reduction from 35% -> 50%

 

Caring

Tier 1

  • Healing & Shields reduced -> 20%

Tier 2

  • Healing & Shields reduced -> 30%

Tier 3

  • Healing & Shields reduced -> 40%

 

Ghosts: Mitchell Squad

Tier 2

  • Increased Ability Power buff from 25% -> 50%

Tier 3

  • Decreased Ability Charge from 75% -> 30%
  • Increase Shield from 50% -> 80% Ability Power

 

Ghost: Nomad Squad

Tier 1

  • Increased Weapon Power buff from 25% -> 30%

Tier 2

  • Increased Weapon Power buff from 35% -> 50%

Tier 3

  • Decreased Sync Fire duration from 5s -> 4s

 

Rainbow 6: Red

Tier 1

  • Increased Control Duration reduction from 20% -> 50%

Tier 2

  • Increased Control Duration reduction from 30% -> 90%

Tier 3

  • Increased Control Reflect duration from 2s -> 5s
  • NEW: Add -40% Damage reduction when Control Effect is received.

 

Rainbow 6: Green

Tier 1

  • Increased Damage to Controlled targets from 20% -> 25%

Tier 2

  • Increased Damage to Controlled targets from 35% -> 40%

Tier 3

  • Increased Control Duration increase from 25% -> 30%

 

Rainbow 6: Blue

  • The initial adjustments for the R6 Blue changes, didn’t quite hit the mark for how we wanted the team to feel. So we made adjustments that maintained the original Squad Perk feel, but updated to better fit with the Season 2 gameplay.

Tier 1

  • UPDATE: Whenever an ally is Healed, spread 25% of the heal to all other allies.

Tier 2

  • UPDATE: 40% of the heal is spread to all allies.

Tier 3

  • UPDATE: On ally revive, all other allies permanently receive +30% Weapon Damage.

 

Division

Tier 3

  • Increase Stun duration from 2s -> 4s

 

4th Echelon

Tier 1

  • Increase Critical Chance from 10% -> 20%

Tier 2

  • Increase Critical Power from 30% -> 40%

 

John Brown’s Army

Tier 1

  • Increase damage from 30% -> 50% Health

Tier 2

  • Increase damage from 50% -> 75% Health

Tier 3

  • Increase Confuse duration from 6s -> 8s

 

Last Man Battalion

Tier 3

  • Increase Ability Power buff from 35% -> 50%

 

Phantoms

Tier 1

  • Increase Invincible duration from 4s -> 6s
  • Increase Ability Power buff from 10% -> 50%

Tier 3

  • Increase Ability Power buff from 10% -> 70%
  • Increase Blind duration from 3s -> 4s
  • Remove +Ability Charge

 

Spetsnaz

Tier 1

  • Decreased Execute range from 20% -> 15%

 

Wolves

  • With the Wolves squad arriving soon, the Squad Perk has been updated to better fit the team.

Tier 3

  • UPDATE: Whenever an enemy is killed all Wolves receive +45% Weapon Damage for 5 seconds.

 

Rogues

Tier 3

  • Decreased Health Steal from 10% -> 8%

 

 

Soldier Updates

After reviewing the initial updates for Season 2 we were able to fine tune some soldiers and update the power distribution of others to ensure they are still able to serve the same function and perform as well as players have to come to expect.

 

Ryan

  • Passive
  • Increased Buff time from 5s -> 6s

 

Bronson

  • Active
  • Increased Heal from damage from 150% -> 200%

 

Caleb Dunne

  • Caleb’s Active buffs allowed for some extreme scaling during longer battles, and was therefore initially hit hard by some value changes for Season 2. After re-evaluation, we were able to bring back some of that power, and reinstate his efficiency as a strong support in long battles and an effective Survivalist.

  • Increased impact damage from 10% -> 50% Ability Power
  • Increased Burn damage from  50% -> 75% Ability Power

 

Brian Johnson

  • Active
  • Increased True Damage from 170% -> 200%

 

Alani Kelso

  • Alani has great utility and performs well in a wide range of teams, but as a Legendary soldier, her active damage didn’t feel quite as exciting as expected.

  • Increased damage per firefly bomb from 40% -> 75% Ability Power

 

Isaac Briggs

  • Active
  • Increased damage from 125% -> 150% Ability Power
  • Increase Stun from 3s -> 4s

 

Sam Fisher

  • While still strong, as the pinnacle of Legendary soldiers and the quintessential elite operative, we always want him to feel that way.

  • Increased damage per shot from 80% -> 100% Ability Power
  • Increase Execute range from 20% health -> 25% health
  • Passive
  • Increased Ability Power buff from 50% -> 75% Ability Power

 

Anna Grim

  • Anna is an amazing support soldier with a huge defensive shield to keep her team safe. However the intention with her passive was always to help her team overcome the enemy with aggressive actions and damage, not endlessly stall the battle by overpowering defensive abilities.

Emile Dufraisne

Coda

  • Active
  • Increased damage per shot from 75% -> 80% Ability Power

 

Virgil

  • Active
  • Increased damage from 150% -> 160% Ability Power

 

Doc

  • Active
  • Add Cleanse on Heal.

 

Nidia Flores

  • Active
  • Increased Bleed from 25% -> 30% Ability Power

 

El Sueno

  • El Sueno was greatly affected by the changes to gameplay with Season 2, so we wanted to ensure his Legendary status was maintained, and improve his utility.
  • Active
  • Increased Heal per enemy Taunted from 25% -> 40% Ability Power
  • Increased Confuse duration from 3s -> 4s

 

Pablo Cuellar

  • With changes to make critical bullets calculated per bullet, Pablo’s passive ability became extremely strong with very little downside, resulting in extreme reductions in his Active ability. Reducing the effectiveness of his passive was necessary to be less overwhelming.

  • Increased Ability Charge removal per ally alive from 10% -> 25%
  • Increased Synchronised Fire duration from 3s -> 4s

  • Cannot retrigger within 5s of triggering.

 

Weaver

  • Increased damage from 80% -> 120% Ability Power

 

Nomad

  • While increasing the usefulness of Nomad’s Passive ability for Season 2, we took a little too much power from his Active. Reinstating some of that power to ensure he maintains his Legendary status.

  • Increased damage per bullet from 100% -> 110% Ability Power
  • Increased Execute range from 20% -> 25% Health

 

Vasily

  • Active
  • Increased Stun duration from 4s -> 5s

 

David Crenshaw

  • Active
  • Increased damage from 25% -> 75% Ability Power

 

Ringo

  • Active
  • Increased damage per enemy from 35% -> 40% Ability Power

 

Zofia

  • The initial balancing pass on Zofia moved her a little too far away from her previous strengths, so we are restoring some of that.

  • Increased damage when above 50% health from 100% -> 150% Ability Power.
  • Decreased damage when below 50% health from 70% -> 50%
  • Increased Daze duration from 6s -> 8s

 

Richard Kingsley

  • Active
  • Increased damage from 100% -> 200% Ability Power

 

Shawn Robertson

  • Active
  • Increased damage from 50% -> 140% Ability Power
  • Increased Daze duration from 6s -> 10s
  • Passive
  • Increased Bleed from 100% -> 200% Ability Power

 

Tom Reed

  • The randomness and timing of Tom’s active didn’t mesh well with the new gameplay offered in Season 2, generally not being useful. So we reworked his Active to be a little more efficient and useful for the new gameplay.

  • UPDATE: Shields all allies and provides damage reflection for the duration.

 

Redfang

  • Active
  • Increased damage to out of cover enemies from 150% -> 200% Ability Power

 

Walker

  • Passive
  • Increased damage when shield is destroyed from 100% -> 150% Ability Power

 

James Dragov

  • Active
  • Increased damage from 60% -> 75% Ability Power

 

Aaron Keener

  • The style of play for Keener was not quite meshing with the new Season 2 gameplay. We wanted Aaron to feel like a real Legendary so we added some extra efficiency to his kit.

  • Decreased impact damage from 100% -> 50% Ability Power
  • Decreased area spread damage from 50% -> 25% Ability Power
  • NEW: Add 1 Ability Auth. Point on cast.

 

Zhang Jia

  • We found that Zhang was sacrificing too much of his own survivability to aid his team. This often meant he couldn’t really protect them in the long run, so we shifted a little bit of his power to better keep him alive longer.

  • Changed from 20% Shield to all allies -> 50% Shield to self.

 

Tao Jun

  • Active
  • Increased damage from 200% -> 220% Ability Power
  • NEW: Now interrupts any ability in progress.

 

Jimmy Lei

  • Jimmy’s passive ability became much less useful in Season 2, so we wanted to rework this a little to be more useful in all cases.
  • Passive
  • UPDATE: On Reload Silence the 2 closest enemies.

 

Zhao Lian

  • Passive
  • Increased Heal over time from 50% -> 65% Ability Power

 

Rook

  • Active
  • Increased damage from 40% -> 65% Ability Power
  • Passive
  • Increased damage reduction for 3 weapon types from 20% -> 40%
  • Decreased Ability Charge when Armor is removed from 25% -> 20%

 

Scarecrow

  • With abilities being so much more valuable, Scarecrow’s passive buff was a little too powerful
  • Passive
  • Decreased chance of Hack from 25% -> 20%
